Frequently Asked Questions

What's so good about beef tallow for the skin?

  • Beef tallow is deeply moisturizing and easily absorbed by human skin. It's rich in vitamins A, D, E, and K, all of which support skin health. Thanks to the special blend in Tallow Honey Gold of our non-GMO USA beef tallow plus beeswax, olive oil, and healing Manuka honey, you may find that this special balm helps sooth irritation, redness, and possibly even conditions like eczema or psoriasis (we can't guarantee it, but this has been our experience). It feels amazing on the skin... give it a try!

Who makes this balm?

Bobby Vincench here! My family makes all these balms and scrubs carefully and safely right here on Long Island at our home. It's the same exact tallow we make for ourselves, and now we offer it to you and your loved ones so you can hopefully benefit from it like we do. Brought to you by our small business, Free Minds Thrive (get more info here).

Why is there a slight variation in natural color, scent and/or consistency from tin to tin?

When we say "All Natural" -- we mean it! Even though we use a specific proprietary homemade formula and process to make each batch of Tallow Honey Gold balms and scrubs, the natural ingredients may vary slightly from batch to batch.

This is due to very slight variations in ratios used in each batch, as well as the natural variation of beef tallow, beeswax, olive oil and Manuka honey from the source. The non-GMO tallow, for instance, can be slightly different from batch to batch. The organic beeswax comes from different bees and beehives, ensuring there will be some differences in every batch. The same goes for the Manuka honey and organic olive oil.

You may also notice little smooth and soft "bits" or "chunks" once in a while, which come from the beeswax and/or honey -- and are perfectly normal (just go ahead and rub them in!).

So while we aim to use the same quality ingredients with each batch (either non-GMO or organic in all cases), the actual qualities and characteristics of each batch will depend on how the cows and bees lived their lives, and how the olives grew in their unique conditions.

With all of this considered, we expect slight variations. The product will always be as clean and simple as the ingredients list shows. We may even play with formulas from time to time in order to improve these products over time.

How much should I use on my skin?

There's no right answer to this question, although there are two important things to keep in mind:

1. A little goes a long way, as it tends to last longer on your skin than some other products out there.

2. Apply liberally to get the moisturizing satisfaction your skin needs.
